Meet Gabrielle Fleishman, Sales & Business Development Manager at ROOST Apartment Hotel; Hospitality Industry.
What’s the best piece of career advice ever given to you? The best piece of career advice given to me was from one of my mentors, Mike Matthewson a Product Manager at Columbia Records. After being there for 4+ years, I so badly wanted to be a Product Manager like Mike, but there were no openings. When I was offered a role in the promotions department, I went to Mike, concerned that taking a promotions role, would steer me off course. He told me, “There is no set path or certain department you need to stay in to achieve the role you want here or anywhere else. The more experience and knowledge you gain is what makes you valuable and will lead to the role you want.”
How do you define success?
Personal, Financial and Emotional Peace.
In moments of self-doubt, how do you build yourself back up?
Reminding myself that I can only fail if I don’t try.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your career to date?
Decide on what you want and go after it. Anything is attainable if you do the right thing, work hard and prioritize yourself and your value system.
