biography

With over twenty years of marketing & brand experience, Erika Joy Erb has led successful campaigns across a range of industries – from Wall Street, to Philly’s first casino, to the retail redevelopment project that revitalized the heart of Philadelphia.

As a marketing leader, Erika understands the importance of building relationships and developing successful strategies to tell a brand’s story. She has established herself as a highly effective team builder and is trusted among industry leaders, creative agencies and community partners.

Currently, Erika serves as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Combining her love for Philadelphia and marketing, Erika leads all marketing efforts to connect more people to the mission of fighting poverty and expanding opportunity for all.

Previously, Erika served as Director of Marketing for SugarHouse Casino (now Rivers Casino), where she quickly climbed the ranks and oversaw marketing and event ic that positively impacted revenue and positioned the casino as an anchor of the community. Through her leadership, the casino experienced $250M in yearly revenue and underwent a successful $164M property expansion and re-branding campaign in 2016.

In 2017, Erika took a senior leadership role with Fashion District Philadelphia, the $500M redevelopment project that spanned 3 city blocks in the heart of Center City. While here, Erika oversaw the strategic marketing vision and was responsible for building the brand including logo, consumer advertising, digital, paid media strategy, grand opening events and more.

Having grown up in Philadelphia, it was important the brand embody the energy of what makes Philly great – the people. That is why Erika spearheaded the creation and execution of a corporate philanthropy program, a local arts rotating exhibit, and an incubator space geared towards minority and women entrepreneurs. Through her efforts, Fashion District opened with over 400,000 visitors and 90% of stores exceeded revenue goals in its first weekend —  with accolades from consumers, government officials, and local and regional press.

As a natural motivator, Erika is committed to creating highly productive teams by listening, encouraging and maximizing individuals’ strengths. She takes pride in cultivating an environment where accountability, creativity and personalties shine through. When not working, Erika enjoys hiking, traveling and doing her best at having a green thumb.
